CASTLETON, Vt. - The Castleton women's tennis team improved to 3-3 on the year with a 7-2 win over NVU-Johnson Monday afternoon at Castleton Tennis Courts.
The Spartans swept doubles action to gain an early advantage.
Regina Marchese and
Grace Sharkey competed on the highest court and claimed an 8-6 victory.
Megan Hunt and
Makayla Boisvert won a back-and-forth affair, 9-7.
Megan Brier and
Matilda Gutke dominated at No. 3 to the tune of an 8-1 triumph. Brier now has two consecutive doubles victories to her name.
Boisvert and
Mia Manheimer improved to 4-2 on the year in singles, both shutting out their opponents. Other Spartan victories came courtesy of Sharkey and Marchese, who comfortably took the first set before winning by forfeit.
Castleton women's tennis is set to travel to Plattsburgh State Wednesday, September 22 for additional non-conference action.
