CASTLETON, Vt. – Neither squad could find the back of the net, as the two goalies for Castleton and Plymouth St. duked it out to the tune of a 0-0 draw in double overtime on Saturday night at Spartan Stadium.

The Spartans put four shots on goal in the contest, including a pair on target by Eva Clark—one of which that could've sealed the victory for the Spartans late. Jessica Binkowski made six saves in goal, with a multitude of high-pressure stops.

Plymouth St. had the first scoring look, as Hannah Kallis got a foot on a free kick at the six-yard box, but Binkowski made a sprawling save to deflect the ball wide of the net. Later in the half, Binkowski stoned Kallis once more, as the senior charged out and made a sliding stop on a breakaway by the Panthers' forward.

With 12 minutes to play in the contest, Makenzi Bellando had a prime opportunity to put her team ahead, but Plymouth goalie Annaliese Schmidt stole a goal with a diving save.

With time winding down in the game, Binkowksi came up big for the Spartans once more. With Cassie Sherman bearing down, Binkowski made a critical save in tight to knock the ball out of harm's way and preserve the tie, sending it to overtime.

Following a scoreless first overtime, Castleton once more had a chance to grab a victory on its home turf. Dominique Valancius sent a long ball over the top to Bronwen Hopwood, who pulled the trigger on a shot from 10 yards out, but it ricocheted off the crossbar with just five minutes to play in regulation.

The game was a physical affair, featuring one yellow card for each side and a combined total of 25 fouls. Plymouth St. held a 10-5 advantage in corner kicks, while Castleton got off 17 total shots to the Panthers' 11.

Castleton is back on the pitch on Wednesday when it travels to Westfield St. for a 7 p.m. contest.
