KEENE, N.H. – Castleton's Men's Soccer team captured its first win of the 2015 season with a 2-0 shutout victory over Keene St. this afternoon in Keene, N.H.

Jake Tietgens and Solo Felekeni were on-target for the squad, as the Spartans improved to 1-1 on the season with the win. The Owls, meanwhile, suffered their first loss on the year.

Castleton wasted little time to claim the lead, as Felekini scored his first goal in a Spartan uniform just 13 minutes into the game. Tietgens played a through ball in the air, and Felekini controlled the pass before firing a shot into the far side of the net to put the Spartans out front 1-0.

Just over 24 minutes later, Castleton struck again to double its advantage. With a free kick from 25 yards out, Tietgens stepped up and bent a shot just over the Owls' wall and past the keeper to hand the club a two-goal advantage.

The Spartans didn't slow down in the second half either, as the attack consistently pressured Keene St.'s keeper with four shots on target, while maintaining the shutout en route to the 2-0 victory.

In his second start of the year, Amir Pasic delivered an impressive performance with six saves in 90 minutes of scoreless play to capture his first win of the season. His counterpart, Mark Keller, dropped to 0-1 on the season after producing two saves in the losing effort.

Castleton is back in action next Wednesday at 4:00 pm when it hosts Plattsburgh St. in non-conference action at Spartan Stadium.
