Following a scoreless first period, Steadman got Castleton on the board first when she received assists from Keats and Sabrina Hosner to give to the Spartans a 1-0 lead midway through the contest. With time winding down in the second period and Castleton on the power play, Keats found a loose puck in front of the net following a shot from Aimee Briand and buried it to double the Spartan lead to 2-0.

Oswego St. cut into the Spartan lead nine minutes into the final stanza of play, when Rachel Lenard scored on assists from Olivia Ellis and Alexa Aramburu to make it a 2-1 game. Castleton would answer back just 90 seconds later, when Keats skated it up the left wing and found Steadman in front, who deked a defender and slid a back-handed shot into the net for the eventual game-winner. Oswego St. would not go quietly, scoring a power-play goal with less than a minute remaining. With the goalie pulled, creating a six-on-four advantage, Aramburu found the back of the net on assists from Alli Ullrich and Andrea Noss to make it a 3-2 game with just 42 seconds remaining.

Cameron tallied 57 saves on 59 shots for the Spartans, while Tori Trovato stopped 16 of 19 shots for the Lakers in the loss.

Castleton went 1-3 on the power play in the game, while Oswego St. capitalized just one time on eight chances on the power play. Oswego St. controlled the faceoff dot, winning 42 out of 65 draws (65%) in the game.

Castleton is back in action next Friday, traveling to Southern Maine to face off with the Huskies. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
