Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Spartans suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Colby-Sawyer on Saturday in a rematch of the 2013 North Atlantic Conference Final.
The lone goal of the game came in the 27th minute when Sarah Little delivered a pass to Lizzie Jorgensen whose shot beat Jessica Binkowski to give the Chargers a 1-0 victory.
Overall, Castleton outshot Colby-Sawyer 7-6 and held the advantage in corners 6-4. However, the Spartans were unable to convert any chances as they were shutout for the fifth time this season.
Binkowski started in net for Castleton, picking up her sixth loss of the season after allowing one goal with three saves in 90 minutes of action. Karley Hamilton got the nod for the Chargers, recording five saves en route to her fourth win and second shutout of the 2014 season.
The Spartans resume play on Saturday when they travel to Johnson St. for a conference match starting at 1 pm.
