Castleton downed by Builders

HAMPTON, Va. – The Castleton State College baseball team fell 14-3 in non-conference action to the Apprentice School Saturday afternoon.

With the loss Castleton falls to 0-7 on the season.

David Brandt led the Spartan offense, going 3-for-4, with two runs scored while Matt Eisenhuth collected a pair of hits and an RBI. Aaron Zrenda also had two singles, while Ryan Zielinski finished the day 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Castleton trailed 3-1 in the third after a Zielinski single plated Brandt, but the Builders answered with a six-run fourth inning, keyed by a Zachary Harding two-run double.

The Spartans will look to break into the win column on March 20 when they travel to the Coast Guard Academy for a doubleheader at noon.
