LONGVIEW, Texas – The Castleton State College baseball team dropped its fourth-straight contest to open the season, losing 7-6 to LeTourneau University Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.

Trailing 3-0 after four innings, Castleton plated a single run in the fifth, and three more in the sixth to grab a 4-3 lead. Aaron Zrenda singled through the left side to plate David Brandt who reached on a fielder's choice in the fifth inning to put Castleton on the board. After a scoreless bottom of the inning, Jack Lancelin, Matt Eisenhuth and Joe Borowski all singled to start the inning, with Borowski's shot into rightfield plating Lancelin. With two outs and the bases full, Zrenda smacked a single up the middle to bring home Eisenhuth and Borowski, giving Castleton the lead.

In the bottom of the inning however, the Yellow Jackets were able to push across three runs of their own (including two unearned) to take the lead back 6-4.

The Spartans answered with two more in the top of the seventh, as Borowski singled and scored once again in the inning.

With one out in the bottom of the eight, a Chris Hamilton RBI groundout allowed Chris Bertram to come home with what would turn out to be the game-winning run.
