Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine - Senior Courtney Chadburn (No. Clarendon, Vt.) inched ever-closer to the all-time Castleton record for career goals, scoring once as Castleton downed the University of Maine at Farmington 4-0 in North Atlantic Conference women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.
Chadburn now has 78 career goals, one shy of all-time leader Amy Kittredge's (Yandow) mark of 79. The senior also added an assist for good measure, giving her 31 in her four-year career.
The Spartans broke through just 11 minutes into the contest as Chadburn took a pass Brynn Campbell (No. Clarendon, Vt.) and put it past Beth Lebel for the 1-0 lead.
The senior forward added an assist to her point total in the 40th minute as she dished the ball to Kelsey Lenney (Coxsackie, N.Y.) and sophomore deposited her second goal of the season.
The Beavers kept Castleton off the board for first 35 minutes of the first half, however, the Spartans were able to add to their lead at the 83:34 mark as Hannah Corkum (Manchester, Vt.) scored her first goal of the season off a pass from Lenney. Senior Kelly Tetreault (Tolland, Conn.) concluded the scoring with goal in the game's final 30 seconds for the 4-0 margin.
Senior Ericka Davis got the start in net and was forced to make four saves for her fourth shutout of the season.
Castleton improves to 9-4 overall and returns to action on Sunday when the team plays at Thomas University at 12 p.m.
