ELMIRA, N.Y. – Courtney Chadburn (North Clarendon, Vt.) scored in the 28th minute of play to give Castleton an early lead, but Elmira scored two unanswered as the Spartans fell 2-1 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

Chadburn netted her team-leading eighth goal of the season at the 27:56 mark, dribbling past a pair of Elmira defenders and depositing at shot from 22 yards out inside the far post.

Emily Kelly scored off a Kelsey Kiel cross in the 42nd minute to tie the game.

Mary Corey put the Soaring Eagles ahead for good in the 75th minute, converting a Caitlyn Criscuolo assist.

Ericka Davis (Cambridge, Vt.) made eight saves as Castleton falls to 7-4 on the season. Her counterpart, Karissa Wilson also made eight saves.

Castleton will host Cobleskill Wednesday at 7 pm, before returning to the road this weekend for a pair of conference games at UMF and Thomas.
