CASTLETON, Vt. - Senior midfielder/forward Josh Costa (Sutton, Mass.) blasted home the game-winner in the 98th minute of the first overtime period to give Castleton a 2-1 victory over non-conference opponent, Potsdam St., on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Stadium.

Costa netted his team-leading sixth goal of the season corralling a loose ball in the center of the box and ripped it past Bears' goalkeeper Joe Glackin (Latham, N.Y.) into the bottom right corner to improve the Spartans to 3-3-0 overall on the season. Potsdam St. falls to 1-4-1 overall.

Castleton got on the scoreboard first in the 21st minute as Trevor Kotrady (No. Clarendon, Vt.) received a pass from teammate Billy Lund (Monson, Mass.) from about 30-yards out and sniped a shot into the top right corner of the net for a 1-0 advantage.

In the second half, AJ Ramirez (Glens Falls, N.Y.) tied the contest up at 1-1 with a beautiful individual effort.

Ramirez handled the ball from about 35-yards out, slipped by three defenders and scored on a finesse shot past Spartans' goaltender Andy LaCroix (Jamaica, Vt.) to even the score.

At 62:50 of the second half a penalty was called in the box on Potsdam St., Costa had a chance to give Castleton the lead.

Costa aimed for the lower left corner of the net, but Glackin made a diving save to keep the score tied and eventually force overtime.
