Farley torches Wheelock for 34 as Spartans roll 93-77

Chestnut Hill, MA-Joey Farley scored a career-high 34 points as Castleton State College rolled to a 93-77 win at Wheelock College in North Atlantic Conference action.

Farley canned 9-16 from three-point land as the Spartans set a program record with 17 three-pointers in the contest (17-34). The previous record of 15 was set in 1995 versus Notre Dame College, and equaled earlier this season versus Suffolk.

Castleton forced Wheelock into 19 turnovers on the day as they broke open a four-point halftime lead to pull away for the win. Castleton improved its record to 10-7, (3-3 NAC) on the season. Wheelock drops to 1-17, (0-7 NAC) with the loss.

Farley was joined in double figures by junior guard Josh Howe who added 24 points on 5-10 three-point shooting. Senior forward Chris Young had 10 points and 17 rebounds.

Sophomore forward Sherard Robbins had a monster game with season highs of 31 points and 20 rebounds, while freshman guard Emilio Matos added 14 points for the Wildcats.

Castleton returns to conference play on Tuesday, January 29 when the team travels to Johnson State for a 5:30 pm tip-off.
