Box Score Cambridge, MA-The Castleton State College men's basketball team was limited to its smallest scoring output of the season and fell 75-69 to Lesley University in North Atlantic Conference action.
The Spartans, who entered the contest averaging 86.5 points per contest (ranked 10th nationally) raced out to a 39-30 halftime lead, but could not sustain the momentum.
Lynx senior Joe Chatman scored 22 of his game high 26 points in the second half. Chatman was solid from the field, hitting 8-of-13 shots. He also hit all nine of his free throw attempts, including four in the game's final minute to seal the victory for the 5-10 (3-2 NAC) Lynx.
Josh Howe led the Spartans with 25 points, while Joey Farley added 20 and Alden Gregory 11.
Jesus Trejo recorded a double-double for the Lynx with 18 points and 12 rebounds, as did Malcolm Andrews who chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Castleton falls to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play and will take on Wheelock College on Saturday, January 26 at 2:00 pm.
