Box Score Chicopee, MA-Junior forward, Josh Howe scored a game-high 23 points hauled in seven rebounds and dished out five assists to lead Castleton to an 89-83 North Atlantic Conference victory over Elms College in men's basketball action.
Howe was joined in double-figures by three teammates, as Castleton held the Blazers to 34 points over the final 20 minutes after trailing by three at halftime.
Dan Gonzalez led the 9-4 (2-1 NAC) Blazers with 15 points off the bench, including 4-5 shooting from beyond the three-point arc.
After allowing 49 points in the opening half, the Spartans turned up the defense and forced Elms to shoot 36.7% from the field to close out the game.
Joey Farley canned five three-pointers on nine attempts, scoring 18 points off the bench to help bolster the Spartan offense. Kevin Cayea added 15 points, while Richard Reilly chipped in 12 points and six assists for the 8-5 (1-1 NAC) Spartans.
Castleton has won six out of its last seven games, and is back in action on Friday, January 18 when they play host to NAC foe, Thomas College at 6:00 pm.
