Box Score Leicester, MA-The Castleton State College men's basketball team lost for the first time in six games, dropping a 95-78 North Atlantic Conference match-up at Becker College.
Becker received a game-high 34 points and 10 rebounds from Trey Jacobs, along with 25 points and seven assists from Travis Suber in earning its first NAC win of the season.
Castleton's Josh Howe paced four Spartans in double-figures with 22, but it was not enough to combat the inside-outside combo of Jacobs and Suber.
The Hawks held a 41-37 advantage at halftime, but had no answer for Jacobs inside during the second half as he poured in 26 of his 34 points over the final 20 minutes to help Becker pull away.
Kevin Cayea added 16 points for the 7-5 (0-1 NAC) Spartans, while Richard Reilly and Chris Young added 14 and 12 respectively.
Castleton returns to action Saturday, January 12 at Elms College in a 2:00 pm NAC showdown.
