Box Score Williamstown, MA - Castleton lost for the first time in the last four games, falling 11-3 at Williams College.
Both teams struggled early on to put any offense together, but the Ephs put together a four-run fourth inning, thanks in part to some shaky Castleton defense. All four runs in the inning were unearned, and the Spartans would never recover.
Williams would strike again for four more runs in the sixth before Castleton could get on the board. Ryan Fote dellvered the big hit in the inning, a two-run triple that put the game on ice.
The Spartans would battle back for three runs in the top of the seventh as Eric Anderson, Tim Zorio and Anthony DiPietrantonio all scored from the bottom of the order.
The Ephs would get all three runs back with two in the seventh and one more in the eighth to round out the scoring.
James Dicosmo finished 4-for-5 on the day with a pair of RBIs and a run scored. Kenney and and junior Kevin Flynn also had multihit days. Kenney was 2-for-5 with a run scored and Flynn went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI to lead 11-5 Williams.
DiPietrantonio doubled and scored, and Phil Puleo went 1 for 3 for the 8-8 Spartans. Ron Cahill took the loss, going six innings and allowing eight runs (four earned). Castleton is back in action on April 11 when they travel to St. Michael's for a 2:00 pm 9-inning game versus the Purple Knights, followed by a 9-inning game with Vermont Technical immediately following.
