Box Score

North Clarendon, VT - With Castleton's field still unplayable, the Spartans had to resort to alternative plans to get in Sunday's game with Keene State. After moving the game to Mill River Union High School in North Clarendon the Owls disappointed the home-town team, defeating them 8-1.

Castleton fell behind in the second inning as the Owls plated a pair of runs on an RBI double by Jeff Perkins and RBI single by James Chevalier. The Spartans would get one back in the bottom of the fourth inning when Ryan Bouck walked, stole second and scored on a Chris Ragis RBI single to make it a 2-1 ball game.

The Spartans would get no closer, unfortunately, as Keene plated a pair of runs in the sixth and four more (one earned) in the eighth.

Julian Lugo tossed six innings to earn the win for 11-7 Keene State. Jeremy Gilcris took the loss for Castleton, throwing five and two-thirds, and allowing four earned. With the loss Castleton falls to 5-6 and will travel to RPI for a double header on Tuesday, April 4.
