Castleton earns weekend split, defeats Becker 82-76 in NAC action

Leicester, MA-The Castleton State College men's basketball team found themselves down 20-2 right out of the gate, but battled all the way back and trailed just 37-36 at halftime. Joey Farley netted 10 of his 13 points during the first-half run to get the Spartans within striking distance.

Castleton would use a balanced second-half attack to earn the win as they placed five players in double-figures. Rich Reilly scored a team-high 17 points, including 14 in the second half. Jeremy Jorgensen recorded yet another double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Kevin Cayea and Josh Howe rounded out the players in double-figures with 14 points apiece.

Becker placed three players in double-figures, led by Shwan Fuller's game-high 22. Emmanuel Masumbucko added 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Jason Patterson added 17 off the bench.

With the win Castleton improves to 9-10 overall and currently sit in fourth place in the NAC West at 5-6. Becker falls to 2-17 overall and 1-9 in NAC play.
