Castleton upsets NAC West leader, Elms College 102-94

Castleton, VT-The Castleton State College men's basketball team placed four players in double digits as the Spartans defeated division leading Elms 102-94 on senior day. The Spartans concluded their regular season with winning seven consecutive games. Joey Farley led the way hitting five three pointers in his way to 27 points.

Castleton used a 62 point second half to come back from a 45-40 halftime deficit. The Spartans went to the line 30 times in the final 20 minutes and converted on 23 of those attempts.

Jeremy Jorgensen ended his career in Glenbrook Gymnasium with a double-double, scoring 24 points to go along with a team leading 13 rebounds. Fellow senior Matt Tomaino contributed with four assists and three rebounds. Rich Reilly scored 19 points to go along with eight assists and Josh Howe came off the bench to score 20.

David Williams led the way for the Blazers with 25 points. Justin Davis had 20 points and Nathan Hawes recorded a double-double with 13 points and 19 rebounds.

Castleton finishes the regular season with a 15-10 mark, going 9-6 in NAC play. The Spartans go on the road Tuesday for a first round game, time and site to be determined. Elms falls to 17-8 overall with a 12-3 conference record. Elms will play on Tuesday as well with opponent and time to be determined.
