Castleton wins for the fifth time in six games, drops Mount Ida 80-64

Castleton, VT-The Castleton State College men's basketball team won it's fifth game out their last six with a NAC victory over the Mustangs of Mount Ida. Castleton placed five players in double-digits, led by Jeremy Jorgensen with 16 points.

Joey Farley and Rich Reilly contributed 14 each and Josh Howe and Matt Tomaino each finished with 10. Reilly also finished with 11 assists for his first double-double of the season. Andreas Vasiliu led the Mustangs with 21 points. Castleton led for the entire game, taking a 37-24 lead at halftime after shooting 56% from the field. Mount Ida pulled to within 7 points in the second half, but the Spartans held off the charge, in part by hitting 14 of 19 free throws.

The Spartans improve to 8-8 overall with a record of 4-4 in the NAC. The Spartans return to the hardwood Sunday at 3:00 pm as they look to avenge a conference loss to Lasell earlier this season. Mount Ida falls to 5-11 and 1-4 in NAC play. The Mustangs travel to Johnson State where they also play a conference game.
