Castleton wins Stockdale's debut 5-0 over Plymouth State

Rutland, VT-Castleton made Head Coach David Stockdale's first game on the bench a memorable one, shutting-out first year squad, Plymouth State 5-0. Katelyn Greene led the way with a pair of goals and one assist, and Vanessa Carter stopped 19 shots to earn the shut-out.

Greene scored the game winner less than six minutes in, unassisted. The sophomore forward would collect her second with less than six minutes remaining in the period on the power-play. Castleton would score twice more in the first period, utilizing the power play to perfection. Kayla Twigge sent home her first goal of the season, assisted by Adrianna Riggio. Greene assisted on Nicole Adams' goal with just over two minutes remaining in the first period to give the Spartans a commanding lead heading into the first intermission. Melanie Dickinson tacked on an insurance goal with two minutes remaining in the second period, assisted by Twigge.

Plymouth's Lindsey Delorie stopped 33 shots on the night as Plymouth falls to 0-3 in their first season. Castleton improves to 2-4 and will play host to Saint Michael's College on Tuesday, November 28 in ECAC East action.
