Makenzi Bellando joined the VTSU Castleton women's soccer coaching staff in 2021. She arrived after wrapping up a successful playing career for the Spartans.
Following Bellando's first season as a graduate assistant, the Spartans were one of 18 programs nationwide to earn the United Soccer Coaches Team Pinnacle Award. It marked the first in program history for the Spartans, recognizing a combination of on-field success, academic prowess, and sportsmanship.Â
The Carver, Mass. native ranks fourth all-time in program history with 85 career points and is tied for fourth in goals with 35. She recorded back-to-back 10-goal seasons in 2017 and 2018 and was received LEC First Team honors following her junior campaign. As a freshman, Bellando scored eight goals to contribute to the Spartans' NAC Championship run.Â
