Mike Venezia

Mike Venezia enters his third season as Head Coach of Castleton women's hockey.

In 2019-20, Venezia was named NEHC Coach of the Year. An overall record of 13-10-3 combined with an NEHC mark of 10-4-2 helped the Spartans earn the second seed in the conference tournament. In Nov. 2019, the Castleton women won five in a row, including two shutouts. Three players earned NEHC All-Conference Recognition following the strong season.

During his first season at the helm of the Castleton University women's ice hockey team, Venezia led the squad to a runner-up finish in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Championship. Leading five players to NEHC All-Conference recognition, the Philadelphia, Pa. native helped the team turn around a slow start (4-12-2) to win seven of its next 10 games, including going 5-1-1 in conference action. During that span, the Spartans recorded a 3-3 overtime draw with the defending national champion Norwich Cadets, snapping a streak of 29 straight wins against conference opponents.
