Courtney Gauthier

Courtney Gauthier joined the Castleton women’s hockey staff as an assistant coach in August 2022 following a successful collegiate career of which her final two seasons were played under current head coach Tim McAuliffe.

The Tampa, Fla. native attended Castleton University and was a member of the women’s ice hockey team for five years (2017-22), missing her senior season (2020-21) due to injury. As a three-year captain, Gauthier helped lead the team to an appearance in the New England Hockey Conference championship game appearance in her fifth and final season (2021-22) in which Castleton fell to third-ranked Elmira after shutting out No. 10 Norwich in the semifinals. Gauthier was named to the All-NEHC Second Team in her third season, All-NEHC Third Team in her final season, and NEHC All-Academic Team twice throughout her career. She finished her career as a Spartan ranked fourth in points (70), third in assists (45), and third in games played (108) in program history.

Gauthier earned a bachelor’s degree from Castleton in 2021, having majored in Computer Information Systems and Business Management, and minored in Finance. She graduated from Castleton a second time in 2022 when she earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. In addition to coaching, Gauthier works full-time as a Financial Planning Associate in Rutland, Vt.
