Personal: Son of Mark and Bonnie Ambruso ... Has one sibling, Trinity ... Majoring in exercise science ... Ambruso joins VTSU - Castleton as an accomplished and driven athlete, bringing a wealth of experience from his standout career in soccer. A four-year varsity soccer player at Norwich Free Academy, he was not only recognized for his skill on the field but also for his leadership and dedication to the sport. He was voted into the prestigious Senior Bowl in his senior year and earned All-Conference honors for his outstanding performances. Additionally, Ambruso was named the SECJSA Male Player of the Year, solidifying his reputation as one of the top players in the league. His passion for soccer was further honed through his involvement with the Southeast Soccer Club, where he developed his skills and played at a competitive level. Coming from a family with a rich athletic background, Will’s parents, Bonnie (Gymnastics) and Mark (Football), both played collegiate athletics at Springfield College, further fueling his drive to succeed. He lists Bournemouth as his favorite team, reflecting his love for the sport and his admiration for top-tier competition. A consistent performer in the classroom, he earned High Honor Roll recognition all four years of high school. He is currently pursuing a major in Exercise Science, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach, where he plans to combine his passion for fitness with his desire to help others reach their athletic potential.
