CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's and men's track and field teams took part in the annual Sean Collier Invitational, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, over the weekend. The women's throwers continued to be a highlight for the Spartans' program.
Women's Results
•
Isabell Lanfear collected her second top placement in the shot put with a season-best toss of 12.52 meters. She also placed 16th in the javelin with a distance of 26.31 meters.
•
Sienna Newth rounded out the podium in the shot put, placing third with a toss of 11.18 meters. She finished just off the podium in the discus, taking fourth with a throw of 37.42 meters.
• Also earning a win was
Kalynn Stevenson, who recorded a season-best throw of 42.03 meters in the discus.

Karli Martin placed seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 39.52 meters and ninth in the shot put with a throw of 9.89 meters.

Bethany Davis placed eighth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:37.40.
Men's Results
• Rookie Jayden Mikel continues to impress in sprinting events, posting a season-best time of 11.31 seconds in the 100-meter dash. He also performed well in the 200-meter dash, finishing 12th with a time of 23.02 seconds.

Sean Roth finished behind Mikel in both events, placing 22nd in the 100-meter dash (11.58) and 25th in the 200-meter dash (23.77).
• Rookie
Timothy Pratt placed 13th in the 110-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 16.02 seconds.

Castleton will take part in the Little East Conference Outdoor Championships next Saturday, April 25.
