"His extensive background in sports information and digital media strategy will be a huge asset as we elevate our program's coverage and connect with our fanbase. I look forward to working with David as he promotes and supports our student-athletes' success as we start a new academic year."

Heberger comes to Castleton from Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va. where he was the Sports Information Director for the last nine years. He oversaw communications for Randolph's 20 intercollegiate athletic programs including supervising the department's website and social media accounts. "I would like to thank Deanna Tyson and the rest of the search committee for selecting me for this position," said Heberger. "I am excited to start working with the athletics staff and getting to know and tell the stories of the Spartan student-athletes."

From 2014-2017, Heberger served in the same capacity at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa. During that time, he assisted Juniata's athletics department in hosting five Landmark Conference Tournaments, a 2014 NCAA Field Hockey First Round game, the 2015 Women's Volleyball NCAA Regional, and a 2017 Men's Volleyball NCAA First Round match. He was also a member of the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete committee.

Heberger's resume includes seven years as an assistant sports information director for four institutions in New York - Hartwick College, Union College, SUNY Potsdam, and the University of Rochester.

Heberger earned a B.S. degree in Computer Science from SUNY Brockport in 2004 and a second B.S. degree in Sports Management from St. John Fisher College in 2008.

The Rochester, N.Y. native is a member of CSC (College Sports Communicators) and a past member of VaSID (Virginia Sports Information Directors). He is Past President of the VaSID Executive Board. Heberger was previously an Academic All-America District Coordinator for CSC.
