NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Vermont State University Castleton softball team secured a 2-0 victory over Brevard College on Day 2 of the Fastpitch Dreams Classic.

How it Happened:
Castleton held Brevard off through early innings, keeping the game scoreless until a third-inning rally gave the Spartans the lead.
Jordan Hill opened the frame with a big hit down the left-field line to get on base.
Chloe Green reached on a fielder's choice, and
Maddy Dudley followed with a single up the middle to bring Green home.
Samera Rideout then singled to left field, advancing Dudley, who went on to steal third.
Alex Brouillette capped the rally with a single through the left side to drive in Dudley for the game's second and final run. Castleton's defense retired the Tornados the rest of the way, preserving the 2-0 victory.
Top Performers:
- Rideout recorded two hits for the Spartans.
- Dudley and Brouillette each drove in a run with key singles.
