QUEENSBURY, N.Y. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's alpine skiing team earned a third-place team finish in giant slalom competition on Senior Day at West Mountain.
Sondre Andersen led the Spartans with a 12th-place finish, recording a two-run time of 2:12.17.
Alex Jorge Lopez followed closely behind in 13th place at 2:12.55, while
Nate Hazen placed 17th with a time of 2:14.89.
Jack Conneely finished 20th in 2:15.58, just ahead of
Gavin Bochnak in 21st at 2:15.62.
Oliver Olsen crossed the line in 26th place (2:17.48), with
Will Vesely finishing 34th in 2:20.86.
Matthew Moeckel placed 39th at 2:25.34, followed by
Bennett Erickson in 41st (2:25.69) and
Leo Schnipper rounded out the Castleton results in 43rd place with a time of 2:29.20.
In the team standings, Babson College swept the podium with a first-place combined time of 6:22.45, while Clarkson University finished second at 6:33.67. Castleton secured third place to complete the podium with a total time of 6:39.61.
The Spartans return to action on February 7, traveling to Pat's Peak for slalom.
