How It Happened
Adam Bilodeau opened the scoring with a three-pointer two minutes into the game, but the Corsairs jumped out to a 15-7 run early in the first half. Radcliff kept Castleton within striking distance with strong moves in the paint, and later buried a three to account for 10 of the Spartans' first 15 points. First year
Ethan Lussier followed with a three off a Radcliff assist to pull Castleton within one, before Radcliff converted another layup to give the Spartans a 20-19 lead with eight minutes remaining.
The teams traded baskets for the remainder of the half, with neither side able to pull away. A few late layups by UMass Dartmouth's Ryan Flauto sent the Corsairs into halftime with a narrow 31-29 advantage.
The back-and-forth continued in the second half, and Bilodeau knocked down a three out of a media timeout to give Castleton a 45-44 lead. However, the final three minutes proved decisive, as the Spartans struggled to convert on offense while the Corsairs capitalized to build their largest lead of the game and pull away for the 70-56 win.
