ANDOVER, N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's alpine skiing team finished third to close out its time at Proctor Academy in slalom competition.
Sondre Andersen led the Spartans with a second-place finish, posting a time of 1:26.76. He recorded the fastest second run of the day and earned his second slalom podium of the season.
Lucas Pons Morillo was Castleton's next highest finisher, placing 13th with a time of 1:32.33. Sven Cornelisse finished 18th (1:33.25), followed by Alex Jorge Lopez in 19th (1:33.97) and Marti Llort in 20th (1:34.14). Matthew Moeckel rounded out the Spartans' scoring group with a 25th-place finish in 1:35.77.
In the team standings, Castleton placed third with a combined time of 4:33.06. Babson claimed first place at 4:21.91, while Clarkson finished second in 4:28.34.
The Spartans return to action Saturday, January 24, at Whiteface Mountain for giant slalom competition.
