How It Happened
Clarkson jumped out to an early lead with six consecutive serves, forcing Castleton into a timeout. Jocelyn Ray got the Spartans started with a kill, but could not keep the momentum going. Despite the defensive effort, Castleton was limited to four kills against eight errors and fell 25-11 in the first set.

The second set was similar, with digs from Brianna Walsh and Nicolette Vaughn keeping Castleton in rallies, but Clarkson was able to convert key points to secure the match. Castleton tallied just five kills with 11 errors, giving Clarkson the 25-12 win.

The Spartans showed resilience in the third set with their strongest performance of the night. Ray notched three kills on only six swings, while Madison Sheehan chipped in two kills and a service ace to help Castleton stay close. Vaughn and Walsh kept the back row anchored with six and three digs respectively. Alondra Rojas added a service ace during a 4-0 Castleton run that cut the deficit. After falling behind, the Spartans rallied again with back to back kills from Ray and Sheehan. Clarkson however was able to hold off the Spartans' comeback with a 25-20 win.
