PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After a standout week on the court,
Stella Forte of the Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis team earned Little East Conference Player of the Week honors. Castleton finished the week 1-1, with a 6-1 loss to Plattsburgh State and a 7-0 sweep over VTSU Johnson.
Forte went 1-1 on the week in the first doubles spot with teammate
Madelyn Nonni. Against Plattsburgh State, the pair lost a tightly contested match 6-7, but bounced back against VTSU Johnson with a 6-0 win.
Forte also competed at the No. 1 spot in singles play. She fell 1-6, 2-6 to Plattsburgh State but swept her opponent from VTSU Johnson, 6-3, 6-0.
The team opens LEC play on Thursday, September 11, at Bridgewater State with a 3:30 p.m. start.
