Women's Volleyball Dominates Lyndon in Three-Set Sweep

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's volleyball team opened its season with a dominant sweep of VTSU Lyndon on Saturday afternoon at Andrews Hall. The Spartans controlled all three sets, showcasing a balanced attack and  strong defense.

How it Happened
  • Strong serving from Castleton's Brianna Walsh set the tone early, helping build a quick lead.  
  • Jocelyn Ray powered the attack with six kills and two blocks, shutting down multiple Lyndon scoring attempts.  
  • Lyndon's  Kiara Mack and Sydney Clunis combined for eight digs and five kills, but the Hornets could not overcome Castleton's constant pressure.
  • The Spartans' defense forced multiple errors to close out each set in dominant fashion.
 
By the Numbers
  • Walsh recorded nine service aces to fuel the Spartans' attack.
  • Alondra Rojas ran the offense with 18 assists.
 
What's Next
Castleton returns to action Sunday with a 1 p.m. matchup against VTSU Johnson, followed by a 3 p.m. rivalry contest against Norwich.
