How It Happened:
- Kristyn Carroll scored on a wild pitch in the first inning and provided a two-run RBI double in the second inning to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead.
- Middlebury extend their lead to six with three runs on two hits in the third inning.
- Masson Billert collected a double at the top of the fourth. Dana Elkins hit a single to advance Billert to third, looking for their first run of the game. Lont held strong on the mound and struck out her fifth batter of the game.
- The Panthers scored two more runs to declare the run-ahead rule and end the game after five innings played, securing the victory.

How It Happened:
- Middlebury scored two early runs to give them 2-0 lead.
- Taylor Russell sent a single down center field to give Castleton their first hit of the game.
- The Panthers strung together another strong third inning, crossing home plate four times to extend their lead to 6-0
- The Spartans recouped in the fourth inning with a quick outing for the Panthers to regain some momentum
- Middlebury finished with five hits and two runs in the fifth inning to give them a 8-0 victory after five innings of play
