CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The Vermont State University Castleton men's alpine skiing team notched second place in slalom on day two of the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships at Sugarloaf.
Due to weather, run two of the day was canceled, so times are based on one run. The Spartans notched two top-10 finishes, with
Aksel Stroem-Hansen taking fifth with a time of 31.04, and
Sondre Andersen posting a time of 31.46 to take eighth.
Nate Hazen finished 17th with a time of 32.36, and
Lucas Pons Morillo finished 20th with a time of 32.68 to round out the field for the Spartans.
Castleton posted a team time of 1:34.86 to take second, just 0.78 off of first which was Babson with a time of 1:34.08. Clarkson finished in third with a time of 1:35.61.
The Spartans have punched their ticket to the USCSA National Championships held at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon March 12-15.
