CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The Vermont State University Castleton men's alpine skiing team registered a third-place finish in giant slalom at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships on Saturday at Sugarloaf.
Senior
Aksel Stroem-Hansen and
Sondre Andersen were the Spartans highest finishers, taking fifth with a time of 1:23.79 and sixth with a 1:24.58 respectively out of 84 competitors.
Alberto Lantelme finished 15th with a time of 1:25.68, and
Nate Hazen finished 22nd with a 1:26.22 to complete the field for Castleton.
The Spartans posted a combined team time of 4:14.05, good enough for third place, behind Babson in second with a time of 4:12.95 and UConn in first with a time of 4:11.09.
Castleton returns to Sugarloaf tomorrow, February 16 for slalom as the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships wrap up.
