Men's Alpine Clinches Third in Regular Season Finale

EGREMONT, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's alpine skiing team notched a third-place finish in slalom on Sunday at Catamount.
 
Sondre Andersen claimed a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:35.06, to finish the MacConnell Division regular season ranked fifth overall. Nate Hazen claimed ninth with a time of 1:36.55, claiming 12th in the regular season rankings. Lucas Pons Morillo notched 11th-place with a time of 1:36.68, claiming 18th in the regular season rankings. Alberto Lantelme (15th) finished 23rd in the regular season rankings, with Valero Echegoyen (16th), finishing ninth in the rankings. Kevin McDonough (22nd) finished ranked 29th, and Leo Schnipper (30th) rounded out the Spartans field.
 
Aksel Stroem-Hansen finishes the regular season ranked 13th, despite missing a part of the season and getting disqualified on his second run of the day. Jack Conneely registered a DNF on day two, but finished the regular season ranked 22nd.
 
The Spartans head to Sugarloaf on Saturday, February 15 for the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships, with giant slalom on day one and slalom on day two (February 16).
