How It Happened

Curry opened the game with a 9-2 run, but the Spartans quickly settled in behind their work on the glass. Conner McKearin and Adam Bilodeau both contributed several assists, with their strong rebounding creating fast-break opportunities that led to a big momentum shift. Castleton took advantage of a Colonels turnover at the 12:33 mark, as Will Radcliff scored off the steal before Joe Buxton and Jackson Doyle each connected from three-point range to swing momentum in favor of the Spartans.

The teams traded baskets through much of the first half until Curry briefly regained the lead, forcing a Castleton timeout. Coming out of the break, the Spartans responded with renewed energy, getting contributions from multiple players and closing the half on a strong run to take a 41-32 advantage into the locker room.

Curry made an early push to open the second half, trimming the deficit and tying the game three minutes in. Castleton answered by slowing the pace and attacking inside, with Radcliff taking point while Ben Seiler and Buxton provided timely three-pointers to keep the Spartans in front.

Foul trouble became a factor midway through the half, leading to extended trips to the free-throw line for both teams. Castleton remained composed, converted consistently at the free-throw line and began to pull away around the seven-minute mark. The Spartans pushed the lead to double digits with under six minutes remaining and maintained control the rest of the way, closing out the 82-68
