Manheim, Pa. – The Vermont State University Castleton wrestling team received national individual rankings in the first regular-season rankings, released by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) on Friday afternoon.
Three Spartans earned national recognition in their respective weight classes following the start of the 2025-26 season.
Nathaniel Camiscioli ranks sixth at 157 pounds and is off to a 10-1 start on the season. He holds the fastest pin time of any Spartan this season at 28 seconds.
Drew Marchese is also off to a 10-1 start at 125 pounds, ranking 10th, and is one of two wrestlers with a 3-0 dual record.
Desmond McLaughlin rounds out Castleton's nationally recognized wrestlers, ranking 14th at 184 pounds, off to an 8-2 start on the season.
Castleton fared well in the Region 1 rankings again, with six individuals ranked in the top six in their respective weight classes. Marchese was ranked first at 125 pounds, while Camiscioli (157), McLaughlin (184), and
Josh Negron (197) were all slotted second in their weight classes.
Jashon Holmes was named fourth at 165 pounds, and
Colby Celuck made his first national appearance, slotted sixth at 174 pounds, to round out the Spartans' ranked wrestlers.
The team will welcome #4 Roanoke College and #24 Stevens for tomorrow's (November 22) Castleton tri-match. The first dual begins at 12 p.m., with Castleton wrestling at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
