WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer team dropped a tight non-conference match against Westfield State, 1-0, Tuesday night.

How it Happened:
- The Spartans challenged the Owls' back line in the first half, recording four shots and one corner kick, but none found the net against Julia Robak.
- Emma Ezzo made five saves in the first half, while the Spartan back line blocked four shots to keep the game at 0-0 heading into the second half.
- Through the final 45 minutes, Castleton put up four shots with four corner kick opportunities, but all were off target, leaving it up to the Spartans' defensive line.
- Ezzo made six saves before the Owls snuck the ball through the defense and past Ezzo in the 85th minute, taking the 1-0 victory.
