ANDOVER, N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's alpine skiing team took home second-place on day two of slalom at Proctor Ski Area.
Sondre Andersen was the Spartans highest finisher in fifth with a time of 1:28.45, followed by
Valero Echegoyen in ninth with a time of 1:31.49.
Nate Hazen finished 13
th,
Kevin McDonough in 22
nd,
Miki Almirall in 27
th, and
Leo Schnipper in 30
th.
Castleton finished second with a combined time of 4:32.26, behind Babson in first with a time of 4:22.45, and Clarkson in third with a time of 4:34.85.
After four races, two Spartans are in the top-10 of the overall standings, with Andersen in fourth with 215 points and Echegoyen in 10
th with 101 points. Hazen sits in 11
th, with last season's National Champion runner-up in slalom,
Aksel Stroem-Hansen sitting in 15
th despite missing the last two races due to injury, McDonough (22
nd),
Jack Conneely (27
th),
Oliver Olsen (28
th),
Lucas Pons Morillo (30
th),
Matthew Moeckel (34

The Spartans head to Whiteface Friday, January 24 for two days of giant slalom.
