ANDOVER, N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's alpine skiing team finished second on the first day of slalom at Proctor Ski Area.
 

Rookie Sondre Andersen claimed a second-place finish with a time of 1:30.17. The Spartans had a slew of finishers in Valero Echegoyen (8th), Nate Hazen (10th), Kevin McDonough (18th), Jack Conneely (20th), Oliver Olsen (21st), and Matthew Mockel (22) rounding out Castleton.

Castleton earned second with a combined time of 4:40.16, with Babson claiming first with a 4:32.71 and Clarkson third with a 4:44.48.
 

The Spartans return to Proctor for another day of slalom, today (January 18).
