LUDLOW, V.T. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's alpine skiing team finished fourth on Monday at Okemo in giant slalom.
The Spartans earned two top-10 finishes with
Sondre Andersen finishing in sixth with a time of 2:28.14, and
Nate Hazen finishing 10th with a time of 2:30.67.
Valero Echegoyen (17th),
Jack Conneely (21st), and
Kevin McDonough (24th) concluded the Castleton finishers.
With
Aksel Stroem-Hansen logging DNF results after leading following run one, but one ski coming off during run two, the Spartans posted a combined time of 7:31.88, with Babson claiming the top spot with a 7:20.23, Clarkson in second with a time of 7:27.18, and UConn finishing third with a 7:31.18.
Castleton heads to Proctor on Friday, January 17 for two days of slalom.
