PORTLAND, Maine – The Vermont State University Castleton soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at the University of Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon.
It was a busy half for the hosting Huskies, as they recorded all three of their tallies in the opening 35 minutes of the contest.
In a game that saw mostly defensive action, keeper
Emma Ezzo remained dialed in, turning away 15 shots.
Owning the Spartans' best scoring opportunity of the day was
Alexis Billings with her shot on goal coming in the 59th minute.
VTSU Castleton women's soccer returns to action at 6 p.m. on Tuesday as it travels to Eastern Connecticut for the opening round of the Little East Conference Championships.
