KEENE N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's golf team competed in day one of the Little East Conference Championship on Wednesday morning at Keene Country Club.
 
The Spartans shot 322 as a team, led by Brady Hathorn's opening round of 77. Andrew Stefura shot a 79 out of the No. 2 spot in the lineup followed by Zach Papapetros at 81and Dominic Rodrigue and Zach Trempner at 85.
 
Castleton currently sits six strokes behind Western Connecticut in fourth place. Southern Maine finishes day one at the top with a 15-stroke lead with Jaden Poirier leading individually with a seven-under 64.
