CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis team wrapped up its season Saturday afternoon, dropping its final match to Bridgewater State, 9-0.
Madelyn Nonni and
Ginny Trevisan fell 8-1 at the first doubles spot. At the second spot,
Stella Forte and
Olivia Rutkowski fell 8-2, and at the third spot,
Sophia Hussak and
Devon Kibbey fell 8-0.
In singles play, Forte fell 6-3, 6-2 at the first spot, and Nonni fell 6-0, 6-0 at the second spot. Trevisan dropped her singles match 6-2, 6-3 at the third spot, and Hussak dropped hers 6-0, 6-0 at the fourth spot. At the fifth spot, Kibbey fell 6-4, 7-5.
Pearl Bellomo, the Spartans lone senior fell 6-0, 6-0 at the sixth spot.
The Spartans finish the 2024 season with four wins, including one conference win. Rookies
Alice Pomi and
Andrea Rodriguez had winning records in doubles play, boasting 4-2 and 4-3 respectively. Trevisan boasted a winning singles record of 8-5 through the season.
