DANBURY, Conn. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday, falling to Little East Conference opponent Western Connecticut State before dropping a non-conference tilt to Suffolk at WestConn's Feldman Arena.
The Spartans (4-7, 0-2 LEC) fell to WestConn (10-4, 2-0 LEC) in straight sets 25-8, 25-10, 25-19 before dropping a three-set match to Suffolk 25-9, 25-9, 25-15. The team had 29 total kills on the day and spread 78 digs across the two matches.
Jocelyn Ray had a team-leading nine kills on the afternoon, finishing with nine in addition to a solo block and a block assist.
Hailey Martinovich had seven kills and 16 digs.
Sophia Call led all Spartans with 20 digs on the day and
Vanessa LeBrun had 15 digs to go with six kills.
Maddie Delsignore had 24 assists for Castleton.
The Spartans continue conference play on Wednesday night when they host Keene State at 7 p.m. in Glenbrook Gym.
