NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Vermont State University Castleton women's hockey fell to No. 13 Norwich, 2-0 Saturday afternoon.
VTSU Castleton traveled to their neighbors of the east, Norwich for New England Hockey Conference play on Saturday. Both comes came into today's game undefeated in conference play. Castleton (2-0-1) picked up a 2-1 victory over NEC Friday night, while Norwich dominated Plymouth St, 6-0 on Friday as well.
With the puck being dropped, the Cadets showed why they're the No. 13 ranked team in the country. With effortless passing and shutdown defense, the Spartans struggled to get any momentum on the ice. Castleton spent most of their time in the defensive end, after being out shot 58-29. Senior goalie
Kirsten DiCicco provided 32 saves and kept the game within reach.
Norwich's Leocadia Clark earned the shutout for the Cadets, while Livia Brooks and Breanna Ricker provided the two goals in the Spartans 2-0 loss.
VTSU Castleton will be back in action Tuesday, November 21 at Spartan Arena at 4 p.m. against #6 Middlebury.
