PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer team was defeated by Plymouth State, 4-0, on the road Saturday afternoon.
All nine of the Spartans' (2-10, 0-5 LEC) shots were on target, giving the squad a 9-5 shots on goal advantage. Rylee Pepin led an eight-player shooting attack with a pair of on-net attempts, but none got past the Plymouth State (3-6-2, 1-4 LEC) keeper. Emma Ezzo recorded two saves between the posts, upping the sophomore's season total to 55.
The Panthers got a five-point performance from Tess LeDuc who scored twice with an assist in the opening 45 minutes. Kaliana Palhof also etched her name on the scoresheet with a 20th-minute strike. In goal, freshman Sydney Rowe knocked down a career-high nine shots to secure a PSU win.
With Sunday's matchup against New England College postponed, the Spartans welcome SUNY Poly to Dave Wolk Stadium on Wednesday, October 11 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
