BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis program concluded its season Saturday with an 8-1 defeat against Little East Conference opponent Bridgewater State.

The Spartans (4-9, 2-6 LEC) were suppressed in doubles action by a trio of stout Bridgewater State (8-4, 5-2 LEC) tandems that surrendered just one game across the three matches.

In singles play, the Bears picked up quick wins at the second and sixth flights to clinch the dual victory. Stella Forte and Ginny Trevisan each fell at the first and third slots, respectively, by 6-3, 6-1 decisions. Camille Jackson rallied for the Spartans' lone point in a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Yasmine Queen. Proceedings were wrapped up following a Bear point at the fifth spot as Natsuhi Onishi battled Meghan Lotti to a hard-fought, 6-2, 7-5 loss.

VTSU Castleton finishes the 2023 campaign with four wins including two in league action, doubling both of the program's 2022 marks. Jackson and Onishi complete the season with winning records in singles play, posting respective records of 9-2 and 5-3.
